Theodore Newsome (retired Master Sgt.), son of Ben and Jessie Lee Newsome was born in Columbia, Mississippi on June 12, 1935 and departed his earthly life on March 31, 2015. He was preceded in death by his wife Essie Jewell Potter Newsome, his parents and brother Decator Newsome.

MSG Theodore Newsome"s outstanding 20 plus year Military career was highlighted with several Military awards, including being part of the financial team for "Operation Homecoming". MSG Newsome was employed as a Financial System Analyst with DFAS at Fort Benjamin Harrison, he retired from government service in 1992.


Retired MSG Theodore Newsome was the Treasurer of the Retired Armed Forces Association of Indiana, this organization was made up of retired military persons of all branches of the service. Ted was a lifelong member of VFW Post 7119 and a 33 Degree Mason.


He leaves to cherish his memory and life, his Loving daughter Sharon Elaine Levels of Gary, Ind.; sister Nevada Davis of Milwaukee, Wis., nephews Tillman Parker Jr. of Maryland, Michael Erdmann of Milwaukee, Wis., and niece Michelle Erdmann of Milwaukee, Wis., and a host of cousins, great nieces and nephews from the Newsome Family and Potter Family; his Sweetie Fannie Youngblood and her children Bobie Henning, Constance (Connie) and Mark Youngblood of Milwaukee, Wis.; god-daughter Kimberly Vivian Wright of Indianapolis, Ind.; special daughter Judge Deidre Monroe of Gary, Ind.; forever friends James Wilson and Reginald (Tony) Gayle; his partner in crime Ann Green, and a host of relatives and friends.


Services will be held at Crown Hill Funeral Home on Tuesday, April 7, 2015, with visitation 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., and the Celebration of Life Service will begin at 1:00 p.m. Military honors will be displayed at the cemetery.
